SIX60 x Synthony, Once In A Lifetime, One New Zealand Stadium, Ōtautahi Christchurch. Arranger and music preparer.
The opening concert of One New Zealand Stadium, 16 May 2026. The first event in the country's newest venue, and a sold-out crowd of 37,000. SIX60 opened the night, Synthony followed with a 55 piece Christchurch Symphony Orchestra under Sarah-Grace Williams, and SIX60 x Synthony closed the night, band and 55 piece orchestra on stage together for the first time.
I wrote eight orchestral arrangements of SIX60 songs for that final set, working with Matiu Walters from SIX60 and Jason Steel, Creative Director at Global Production Partners, on how the songs would carry at stadium scale. A room that size flattens detail, so the arrangements had to hit hard without losing what makes the songs theirs, and the orchestra and the band had to sound like one thing rather than two.
I also arranged and prepared the Synthony set. Every orchestral chart across the concert was mine.
Two rehearsals. One night. A stadium that had never held a concert before.
